A favorite Madison coffee spot for almost 20 years.
John and Lori Heitz, entrepreneurs behind the Red restaurant family, launched The Red Roaster in 2015. In doing so, they continued the tradition of coffee at 100 West Main, after the Madison Coffee & Tea Company - whose name is still painted above our door - ended operations in the location.
Today, we continue to focus on serving great coffee and fostering the rich social life Madison is known for. Whether we’re bustling through a busy morning or taking the time to chat with regulars during an afternoon lull, we stay true to great coffee and great service.
Meet Rich.
When you walk in The Red Roaster door, you’re likely to see this guy. Since we launched in 2015, he’s been there at the helm. Rich knows coffee, knows coffee shops, and is a steady presence keeping things on track. He’s huge on encouraging the community aspect of the Red Roaster. Next time you see him, say hello.
